History and Philosophy

In Aberdeen, Fyfe Glenrock – known as the “Granite Masters” – has a reputation built on a 160 –year involvement in granite quarrying and stone craftsmanship. Its management and masonry craftsmen continue to develop these special skills in conjunction with the most modern stone working plant.

Located in the heart of an area known worldwide for its beautiful silver-grey and salmon-pink granites, Fyfe Glenrock is rightly proud of its association with Aberdeen – the Granite City. It has supplied the granite stonework and streetscape work for many of the city’s prestige buildings and infrastructure developments, in addition to projects located throughout the United Kingdom.

In 2002 the Company committed to a capital investment of over £2 million in order to create a purpose-built 1300sqm factory, and associated offices, on a 3 acre Brownfield site.

Its new Oldmeldrum facility, located north-west of Aberdeen, is one of the most modern stone processing production units of its kind in the United Kingdoms. The factory is equipped to meet the current and projected resurgent demand for natural granites, whinstones, sandstones and marbles, and is committed to the provision of quality products for both building stone and hard landscaping projects.

The external stockyard is serviced by a 25 tonne overhead gantry crane, whilst the factory is equipped with 1, 2 and 5 tonne overhead cranes.

Automatic CNC sawing, polishing and profiling machinery, manned by trained and skilled technicians, operate alongside traditional masonry craftsmen.
